Dennis the Caravan Cook

Hi. I’m Dennis and I love cooking. And I also love getting out in the caravan. So it made perfect sense to combine both of these interests in this blog I have called CaravanCooking. I am not a chef just a keen cook.

These quick, easy and tasty recipes have been collected over many years and tested in my kitchen at home, in the caravan in my backyard and in the caravan on the road.

I am based in Sydney and the Central West town of Portland, in New South Wales, Australia. But I am sure these recipes are quick, easy and tasty wherever you are.

My caravan is an MDC XT 15 HR full off road van. It has an outside BBQ and inside kitchen including an oven. And over the many years of camping I have collected a plethora of camp cooking equipment including camp ovens, cooking utensils, fire pits and enough gear to fill the garage.

In each recipe I have listed the equipment I recommend and the ingredients you will need. Some preparation can be done before you hit the road and that is mentioned in the recipe as well. Food storage is critical and I have used my extensive experience in outback travel to guide you on how the raw ingredients and any leftovers can be stored.

I hope you enjoy these recipes and my CaravanCooking blog. I welcome all feedback by email or on my CaravanCooking Facebook page.

See you on the road.
